Inside Sales & Operations Manager

The primary function of the Inside Sales Operations Manager is to provide the leadership that drives performance management, key analytics to increase efficiency and productivity, and ultimately helping the organization maximize revenue and profitability targets.  This includes improving operational processes and setting operational standards while supporting the sales organization with strategic resources, content, training and other development  tools to help the sales team sell more effectively. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, train and develop the various roles within the sales organization – quoting, sales operations, customer service and order entry.
  • Drive achievement of company metrics including sales revenue and bookings, quoting/order entry execution, profitability, workflow efficiency and other customer service specific KPIs.
  • Implement and Manage CRM platform to help drive better customer engagement, improve daily management and ultimately increase overall opportunity pipeline to drive more sales.
  • Measure KPIs and reward high performance results or set course of action if undesired results are achieved.
  • Develop the proper training tools for a successful on-boarding and continued development process for all individual contributors on the team.
  • Work closely with VP of Sales to communicate daily, weekly and monthly goals to team members using the reporting tools provided (Flash Reports, Slotting Calendar, Monthly Meetings).
  • Provide the sales organization with the information, processes, content, and tools that help salespeople sell more effectively and successfully engage the buyer throughout the buying process and deliver an exceptional experience.
  • Work with field sales to assist in driving sales and provide key account support by providing the right inside structure.
  • Analyze and help forecast future sales, goals and objectives for the inside sales team by evaluating past trends and working with sales team to understand growth trends on key segments or products.
  • Provide timely, accurate, competitive pricing on market conditions while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Handle escalated client issues.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned by VP of Sales.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or equivalent experience.
  • 5-10 years of business-to-business inside sales management.
  • Experience leading, developing, and successfully coaching an inside sales team.
  • Capacity to develop enthusiastic sales professionals to achieve sales goals.
  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution with acumen for inventory status, lead-times, logistics, work orders, etc.
  • Strong business acumen and mathematics skills with the ability to understand technical specifications.
  • Excellent service, analytical and problem-solving skills, ability to identify solutions for successful outcomes.
  • Ability to work in a high volume and fast paced environment balancing short-term and long-term pipelines.
  • Pipeline management – tracking sales process, KPIs and conversion rates
  • Understanding of CRM and database software
