Position: Commercial Glass Estimator/Project Manager
Report To: VP of Business Development
Requirements:
Previous sales, estimating and/or project management experience in commercial glass. Construction or Engineering degree preferred, but not required. Existing relationships with the Mid-South area market a plus.
Responsibilities:
General
The assistant project manager will assist the assigned supervisory project manager with all aspects of commercial product installations from the initial estimate, bid, follow-up, sale, product procurement, installation coordination and customer service. The goal is to move into a full Project Manager position within the first 12 months of employment.
Sales Support
· Review job description with salesman
· Initial job site visit (if required)
· Project design
· Acquire pricing
· Assist in development of proposal/quote
· Assist in proposal delivery to customer (if required)
Sales/Estimating/Quoting
· Monitor general contractor job postings and public bid requests for opportunities and follow-up
· Visit commercial contractors at office and/or job site to develop professional relationships
· Develop and maintain vendor relationships
· Actively participate in trade organizations and networking groups
· Review bid contract drawings and specifications for scopes relevant to Dillard Door and Entrance Control
· Acquire pricing (from multiple vendors)
· Develop system design (if necessary)
· Submit quotes to all bidding general contractors or appropriate building managers or contacts
· Follow-up with contacts for feedback and pricing outcome
Management
· Review contracts and prepare associated paperwork (insurance, company info, W9…)
· Establish and maintain project files
· Prepare and issue product data, shop drawings, operation & maintenance manuals, submittals based on specifications
· Review comments returned with product data and shop drawings submittal review
· Reissue product data and shop drawings as required to resolve comments and obtain approval
· Equipment ordering, receiving and coordination
· Coordination of defective part returns
· Coordinate Installations
· Review project with installers
· Site visits with installers (when required)
· Address any job/equipment problems or conflicts
· Facilitate timely job billings to meet both customer and Dillard Door and Entrance Control requirements
